Happy Tuesday! My brain is still stuck in the weekend – stuck, in particular, on one recipe…
Now, I’m not typically a huge fan of chocolate chip cookies. Blasphemy, to be sure. But if I’m being totally honest, I’d rather have a chewy oatmeal cookie or a rich butter cookie. For something so traditional, chocolate chip cookies always seem high maintenance. This person likes them chewy, that person crispy, they should never have nuts, they should definitely have nuts. Milk chocolate, semi-sweet, and don’t even get me started on white chocolate!
But, back to the recipe. The recipe. If you’re like me, and you follow a bunch of food bloggers, chefs, and other culinary types on Instagram, then you’ve undoubtably seen Alison Roman‘s cookies from her new cookbook Dining In. They’ve flooded my feed for three weeks. Everyone is baking them. And raving. And making them again. After about a week, I popped online to snag a copy for myself and was dismayed when Amazon said it was backordered. But then… Smitten Kitchen to the rescue!
I won’t post the recipe here, because buy the dang book, the other recipes are amazing as well. (And you can always use the Smitten Kitchen link above.) But I will say, MAKE THESE. They’re salty, sweet, and oh so luxurious. They’re so amazing, in fact, that I made them twice in three days, and have another log of dough in the fridge waiting to be baked off tonight.
What are you waiting for?
